ABRALE’s new project promotes technical collaboration for better clinical outcomes

Brazilian Association of Lymphoma and Leukemia (ABRALE) has the mission to offer help and mobiliza partners so that all blood cancer patients in Brazil have access to the best treatment.

For this, it understands that the participation of doctors, whether in the consultation with the patient, or studying clinical cases with other colleagues, is essential for the therapeutic outcomes to happen in a positive way.

The COVID-19 pandemic has brought numerous difficulties in the health area, such as the serious damming of cancer diagnoses and also the cancellation of routine consultations and treatments. But it is also true that, at this moment, the evolution in the use of technology in this field is notorious. With digital tools, doctors, health professionals and patients can have direct and agile contact, even if not in person.

And it is in this context that ABRALE launches its newest initiative, Tele consultation for Oncology, aimed at oncology and onco-hematology from all over the country.

The project aims to contribute to clinical management decisions, also collaborating in the professional training of oncologists. To do this, it counts on the partnership of renowned doctors from all over the country.

Tele consultation for Oncology facilitates doctor-to-doctor dialogue and, through a digital tool, enables clinical cases discussions with quality and agility, at distance. There are also free of change:

• Sharing information with recognizes specialists, to clarify doubts about diagnosis, treatment and therapeutic segment.
• Assistance in local clinical cases, in addition to providing a second medical opinion or guidance in the therapeutic approach.
• Dissemination of knowledge about complex cancer treatments of different types of cancer.
• Support to the public management of hospitals, in the best use of available Human Resources, for the treatment of cancer in the country.

Types of service

Tele consultation for Oncology ABRALE offers two ways to contact physicians from all over Brazil:

1. CONSULTANCY – Guidance among doctors, managers and health professionals, with the purpose of clarifying doubts about diagnosis and therapeutic procedures in blood cancer patients.
2. INTERCONSULTATION – Exchange of clinical, laboratory, imaging and opinion information among doctors for diagnostic or therapeutic assistance, and also for the discussion of clinical cases of patients with rare neoplasms and high-risk cancer.
