Wellness Project

The Wellness Project was created on February 22, 2019, and aims to carry out welcoming actions with health, beauty and self-esteem guidelines for patients undergoing cancer treatment.

“Rescuing Beauty and Taking Care of Yourself”

The Project unfolds in free-of-charge workshops, which take place once a month. The public, made up of patients undergoing cancer treatment, is invited to the workshops via phone call, social media and marketing emails. The activities chosen aim to improve the physical appearance and increase self-esteem, which is often compromised by the treatment. All topics and activities benefit the promotion of quality of life during and after treatment.
The workshops are given by volunteers who are experts in the proposed themes, and take place both at Abrale’s headquarters and in hospitals, clinics, support centers and partner NGOs.

LIVE Wellness Project (in times of the Pandemic)

Every month, we carry out the Well-being Project in an online version, in the format of a livestream, with a different theme on Abrale’s facebook. Livestreams are directed towards patients and family members. The themes address self-knowledge, mental health and learning about how to improve quality of life and well-being in this moment of social isolation.

In 2021, all Wellness actions were online, due to the Pandemic, addressing the topics: Patients’ Rights, Skin Care, Sustainable Happiness, How to deal with grief – Respecting your pain, Men’s Talk (Men Health) and a Patients’ Christmas Party held in December, which featured various cultural attractions.

ABRALE

ABRALE – Brazilian Lymphoma and Leukemia Association – was founded in 2002 with the mission of offering help and mobilizing partners so that all people with blood cancer in Brazil have access to the best treatment.
